18. Leading Light: Dr. Anne Russell and Dr. Linda Berens 'Personality Types'

This session highlihgts the different ways people take in information and express themselves.  Leaders can become stressed when they are not able to either make their colleagues understand what they want, or not able to understand where their colleagues are coming from. Stress can be alleviated through recognising and celebrating differences. What really motivates different personalities?  Why are we different?  Why don’t we get it when other people say or do stupid things?  And they haven’t a clue it was so stupid? Why don’t they get it when I am so clear?

Dr Anne Russell currently teaches Linda Berens’ Interstrength® accreditation program because of the contributions and depth its multi-model approach brings to working effectively with different personality types.

“Carla, thank you for the Leading Lights sessions, what a great 'parcel-sized' way to improve our competencies in facilitation and community engagement. I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. I value so much the convenience – to plug so easily via a phone hookup into interesting and information-packed conversations about facilitation is very useful. Each workshop covered a different aspect…Michael Wilkinson gave us insights and anecdotes from his wealth of secrets for good facilitation. I enjoyed your meeting marketplace™ virtual tour because it was a valuable step by step facilitation design exercise. They were two great angles on facilitation…an art and a science. I also enjoyed listening and learning from the diverse set of participants as they adapted the ideas to their situations. Many thanks”. Mary Maher

“Thank you for organising the phone conference with Michael Wilkinson, he is super. Always amazed that no matter how long one has done something there remains so much to learn, the room for improvement is indeed the largest room in the world. When I heard this event was a labour of love, I felt your passion for community engagement/facilitation and professional excellence. You are a breath of ‘fresh air’ in this industry!!! THANKS, THANKS”
